Our History
LHRC Founded (2010)
Started as a small community initiative in Wakiso district.
National Registration (2015)
Registered as a national research consortium to coordinate healthcare studies.
Regional Expansion (2018)
Expanded operations to 5 additional districts across Uganda.
Major Milestone (2022)
Reached 1 million beneficiaries through our various health programs.

Dr. Ssenyonjo Godfrey
Chairperson , Board Of Directors
Dr. Ssenyonjo Godfrey is a seasoned medical professional with over two decades of experience in clinical and public health services. He served as a Medical Officer at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital from 2003 to 2020, then joined the Ministry of Health Headquarters as a Senior Medical Officer in the Vaccines and Immunisation Division from 2020 to 2024. He currently leads the Arua Regional Blood Bank under the Uganda Blood Transfusion Service (UBTS).

Musapiti Simon Peter
Executive Chairperson
Musapiti Simon Peter is an experienced ophthalmic clinician with more than half a decade of practice in clinical ophthalmology, specializing in eye care and vision health. He is proficient in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of a broad range of ocular conditions, contributing to improved patient outcomes and stronger community eye health services.

Erikitai Stephen
Executive Vice Chairperson
Eriktai Stephen is a vector control officer with with more than half a decade of professional experience in vector control and disease prevention, with a strong focus on reducing the burden of vector-borne diseases through effective public health interventions.

SSALI SHARIF
Executive Secretary
Ssali Sharif is a Medical Entomologist and Parasitologist with more than half a decade of experience in vector research bringing a gap between fundamental biological sciences and public health.

Akol Yvonne Finellah is a dedicated and passionate Ophthalmic Clinician with a hands on experience of more than a half a decade in clinical and optical setting, and a commitment to providing optimal eye health.

Waiswa Daniel Batwala is an Optometrist with a wealth of experience in clinical optometry for more than half a decade, dedicated to providing and promoting optimal eye care.
